Why You Need A Wedding Engagement Shoot Today?
The better question might be why wouldn’t you want an Wedding Photography Engagement Shoot?
It’s the shine your about to polish onto your upcoming Wedding Day to ensure that both you and your soon to be newly minted Wife or Husband enjoy a stress free Wedding day. Consider it a trial run to ensure that your comfortable in front of your Wedding Photographer’s lens. And in hindsight, that you’ve hired the right Toronto Wedding Photographer to properly photograph and capture the love and emotion that brought you as a Couple to this very special moment in time.
So let’s consider the right reasons to Book that one hour Service to ensure that all goes well!
Have You Hired the Right Wedding Photographer?
While this might not be your first thought as to why you need an Wedding Engagement Shoot it might very well play heavily into your Wedding Day. Is this man or woman who stands before you with a fancy camera in hand the right person, the right fit for your Wedding?
For your Wedding day aspirations and hopes or for your family, be it a large gathering of the Clans or a small, intimate Micro Wedding? This in short is the perfect time to find out now before your ready to walk down that Isle and you have an uncooperative individual who is not great at taking directions or picking up on the subtle twists and turns of your Wedding Day.
I couldn’t emphasize this point more heavily. Just as much as a Customer is looking for the right Wedding Photographer for their Big Day. Professional Services such as your Photographer, your Videographer and your DJ are equally looking for the right Customer to provide a successful unilateral experience.
A Successful Wedding Engagement Shoot Ends Those Nervous Jitters!
Now, it’s about that time to take off the training wheels of your upcoming Wedding and let the Horses run. Every Wedding by it’s very definition is overcome with an expectant chorus of jitters. Your Wedding won’t be any different then any other Wedding in that respect.
Now is the perfect time to dig in with your Wedding Photographer and see how you mesh. See how that creativity flows and indeed enjoy the creative experience that Professional Photography has to offer.
So what do I suggest? Let loose and lets begin.
Let’s face it. It’s not always a natural thing to have a big fancy camera put in front of you while your Wedding Photographer snaps away. Just let those creative juices flow. Better now then on your actual Wedding Day.
And really, think of how much more comfortable your going be on your Big Day when you’ve already made that bond with your Photographer and seen how he or she works. Practice makes perfect right! And if your Photographer is worth his or her’s salt they should have already put your nerves to rest by now and that your in good hands!
When & Where To Take Your Wedding Engagement Photos?
I don’t thing there is any hard and fast rule set in stone to complete this task. But admittedly you don’t want to leave it to late. After all as your Wedding Day countdown draws closer and closer to your Big Day, your additional Wedding Services will all be competing for your attention. Your Church, Reception Hall, Caterer, Florist and DJ will all be competing for your precious time and wouldn’t it be nice to just get this Engagement Session out of the way?
So my suggestion? Two to three Months out from your Wedding is the perfect time. It gives you time, it gives us time as a Team to scout out suitable locations to get our cameras clicking and start producing any number of suitable images to add to your Wedding Invitations. So let’s do this Shoot while your still clear of mind and unencumbered of any distracting obstacles that might influence our timeline.
Location wise what fit’s best with your personality and/or lifestyle. Are you the outdoorsy type. Do you prefer the lush green landscapes of the Toronto Bruce Trail or are you a Downtown type of Guy and Girl? It may additionally all depend on your sense of mobility and how far your willing to travel. Is it a short ride on the Toronto Transit System our is it a short drive out to a picturesque green space that suits you best?
In either respect, once we train our lenses we’re good to go. Take some time. Look around your City and/or neighboring greenspaces and we’ll decide as a group if you wish what would really look great in your finished Engagement images. And if your really stuck and can’t decide we’ll be able to suggest possible locations that have proven to work well in either corner of our City.
North, East, South or West we’ve got you covered. After 10 years of Photographing in and around our great City of Toronto we’ve come to know where to find all the hidden gems!
What To Wear? One or Two Outfits?
I might suggest two outfit changes. It will give us a better variety of possibilities to chose from for your finished Wedding Engagement images.
Keep the outfits simple. But something that best reflects your personal taste. A Bay Street Lawyer might not be comfortable with a nice t-shirt and jeans combination but that might be the perfect choice for a Couple who are the outdoorsy type and prefers comfort over decorum. There really is no hard do’s or don’ts. Although from past experience a light sense of formality works best as you never know how many people might be looking at these images leading up to your Wedding.
Comfort and functionality is the name of the game here. If your not a formal type of guy or girl the last thing you want is a wardrobe style that makes you feel uneasy and uncomfortable. Necklines that are either to tight, too lose or saggy are not a good thing at the best of times. Believe me when I say if your uncomfortable during your Wedding Engagement Shoot it will come out in your images if your not careful.
In Summary.
Your Wedding Engagement Session is so very important to the success for your upcoming Wedding. Not only does it set the stage for your Big Day but it also allows us as a Team to mesh and bond before your Wedding. We’ll plan and figure out a nice Shooting location to highlight your unique personalities and furthermore take the opportunity to sit and discuss your Wedding’s expectations.
